Church Family,
In the sermon this past Sunday we looked at Mark 6:30–43, the themes of service and obedience were explored as essential preparations for Easter. The passage recounts Jesus' miracle of feeding the five thousand, highlighting His compassion and divine authority. It emphasizes the importance of retreating for renewal, as Jesus invites His weary disciples to rest before serving others. Despite their exhaustion, the disciples are challenged to respond with compassion and obedience when faced with the needs of the crowd.
Jesus instructs the disciples to use what they had on hand to feed the multitude, demonstrating that even limited resources can lead to miraculous outcomes through faith and obedience. The sermon concluded by affirming that serving others not only meets physical needs but also fulfills spiritual hunger, ultimately inviting believers to trust in God's provision and follow Christ's example as the ultimate servant-leader.
This past Sunday we practiced what we preach to serve. After the traditional service Dana ran and got us some lunch and we too barely had time to eat. The Rise Against Hunger truck arrived at 12:30 and I was amazed that others were here to help get the church ready for the event. I praise the Lord and I am so thankful and proud of you church. This past Sunday we saw close to 100 people come out and pack meals and we were able to pack 21,000 meals. These meals will make a difference in many lives and we will find out in the next few weeks exactly were those meals will be distributed. When we have compassion to serve in not only blesses those recieving but also those giving and serving.
I look forward to this Sunday as we celebrate and worship the Lord on Palm Sunday. Reminder we have a work day on Saturday and we would love for you to join us as we get the church cleaned up and ready for Easter Sunday.
