Welcome to St.James

Our Heart

To us, having a ‘heart for the Shoals’ means more than just a friendly greeting; it means a deep commitment to the spiritual and physical flourishing of our neighbors. We are a people firmly anchored in the truth of God’s Word, led by teaching that challenges us to grow, and fueled by a love that treats every neighbor like family. It’s one thing to have a heart for our community; it’s another to offer them a life transformed.

Our Vision

We believe that to reach the Shoals today, we must be firmly anchored in the timeless truth of the Gospel. Through deep, expositional preaching and a commitment to real discipleship, we are building a community that isn’t just ‘going to church,’ but is being formed by the Word. This is how we show in our daily life that the heart of God is for the people of the Shoals.

Our Mission

Our mission is to honor God by making more disciples for Jesus Christ. We believe in the truth and power of Jesus and his teachings, and want to see people’s lives changed by following in his Way.

Our Core Values

Honor God

Our highest desire is to honor God in everything we do. He is worthy of
our best—our worship, our attitudes, our decisions, and our lives.
Pray First

Prayer is our first response—not our last resort. Before we plan, decide,
lead, or act, we seek God’s presence and guidance through prayer.
Live in Community

We believe life is better when it is lived together. God created us for relationships, not isolation, and the
church is meant to be a family where people are known, loved, and supported.
Make Disciples
Jesus called His followers to make disciples, and we believe this mission is the heartbeat of the church. Our goal is not
simply to gather crowds, but to help people grow into fully devoted followers of Jesus.
Serve Gladly
We believe serving is at the heart of following Jesus. Just as Christ came not to be served but to serve, we joyfully use
our time, gifts, and abilities to care for others and build God’s kingdom.
