Generosity:Time,Talent, & Treasure Week 4

The Blessing of Generosity

In this sermon we look at the passage found in 2 Corinthians 9:6–15, Paul compares generosity to sowing seeds: we give in faith, trusting God with what we cannot control and believing God can bring a harvest we may never see. Generosity is not simply about the amount we give, but the heart with which we give. Paul reminds us that God loves a cheerful giver who shares freely, not out of pressure or obligation.

God supplies what we need so we can take part in good work. When we offer our time, talents, and resources, lives are blessed, needs are met, and thanksgiving rises to God. Our generosity can reach people we may never meet—and point them toward the goodness of Jesus.

Ultimately, we give because God gave first, offering us the indescribable gift of Jesus Christ. Generosity isn’t about what we lose when we give; it’s about what God can do through what we give.
