Church Family,
This past Sunday, we introduced our new sermon series titled "Gradually Then Suddenly," inspired by God’s word and Mark Batterson's book, focusing on themes of faithfulness, legacy, obedience, and God's timing. The series emphasizes that spiritual breakthroughs often result from persistent, small acts of obedience rather than immediate results. The sermon examined biblical examples, particularly the courageous actions of the Hebrew midwives in Exodus. The sermon highlighted how their fear of God led them to defy Pharaoh's decree, ultimately contributing to their deliverance. The message reinforced that while God's timing may seem delayed, it is perfect, and encourages us to remain steadfast in our faith, trusting that our small acts of obedience can lead to significant, transformative outcomes. The sermon concluded by inviting us to recognize our role in God's ongoing plan for redemption and to commit to living out our faith consistently.
I have included some questions to apply the truths we learned this Sunday. I pray that they will be helpful to you. I look forward to seeing you at midweek tonight!
Text: Exodus 1:15–21; 12:40–42
Topics: Faithfulness, Legacy, Obedience, God’s Timing
Big Idea of the Message: God’s miracles often look instantaneous, but they are built
on generations of faithfulness and small acts of obedience.
Application Point: Don’t give up in the “gradually.” Keep being faithful with your two-
inch dominoes—God’s “suddenly” will come right on time.
Questions:
What is one thing that stood out to you from this week’s message?
Where in your life have you been waiting for a “suddenly” moment from God?
How can you stay faithful in the small things when results seem slow or invisible?
Who has been a “Shiphrah or Puah” in your life—someone whose quiet faithfulness helped you grow?
What might it look like for you to play the “long game” of faith this week?
How can we pray for endurance as you keep taking small, faithful steps?
We will be offering a summer Bible study on Tuesday nights.
