Church Family,
This coming Sunday is Confirmation Sunday, and I am thrilled to share that 13 of our youth will be confirmed. I am so proud of their dedication over the past 12 weeks as they’ve completed the Confirmation class and grown in their understanding of what it means to follow Christ. Their commitment to deepening their faith has been truly inspiring. I also want to thank Rachel Nelson for leading the class and for all her hard work in communicating with parents during confirmation. I am so thankful for Brandi, Julia, Meredith, Laura, and Garrett for investing in the lives of our youth to ensure their growth in the Lord.
On Confirmation Sunday, these young people will take an important step in their spiritual journey by publicly affirming their faith in Christ. This is a meaningful day of celebration for our entire church family.
I invite you to join us in supporting and celebrating our confirmands as they take this next step in their walk with Christ. Confirmation will be part of our traditional service, and your presence is a powerful way to encourage each of them. During the first service, we will also share a slideshow recognizing each confirmand.
Last Sunday was a great day in the house of the Lord; we celebrated Lexi Morre's baptism. The sermon focused on spiritual maturity, emphasizing that growth in faith occurs gradually through consistent practice and obedience. Drawing from Hebrews 5:12-14, 1 Timothy 4:7-8, and Philippians 2:12-13, the sermon highlighted the importance of moving beyond basic teachings to develop a mature faith in Christ. The message reminded us that our spiritual maturity is cultivated through daily disciplines, such as prayer and scripture study, akin to physical training, which requires ongoing commitment.
I encourage you to actively engage in your spiritual journey daily, emphasizing that true maturity is reflected in your actions and in your ability to imitate Christ's humility and service. The sermon concluded by inviting individuals to take personal responsibility for their spiritual growth, to foster habits aligned with God's teachings, and to recognize that life's challenges are opportunities for training and deeper faith.
Reflection
The only ceiling on your intimacy with God is the consistency of your spiritual disciplines.
Ask yourself today, what discipline do you need to develop to go to the next level in your walk with Christ?
What are you waiting for?
Blessings in Christ,
Pastor Brandon
