Church Family,
This past Sunday, we focused on generosity in our Lenten sermon series, examining Acts 4:32-37, where the early church's practices, as illustrated in the passage, showcase a radical approach to generosity: believers sold their possessions so that no one would be in need. This communal spirit, driven by unity and the Holy Spirit's power, reflects the essence of Christ's teachings on generosity. The sermon encouraged the congregation to recognize that true generosity extends beyond financial contributions to include time, love, and support for one another. This passage challenges us to evaluate our own giving practices and consider how our generosity can inspire others, ultimately linking acts of kindness to the transformative love of Christ. God's ultimate act of generosity was the gift of His Son, reinforcing the call for all believers to embody this spirit of selflessness in our daily lives.
We have some important events coming up in our church's life!
As we reflect on the importance of generosity and prepare for these upcoming events, let us remember the call to serve and support one another as a church family.
First, this Sunday, March 22, at 2:30, we will host a district-wide food packing event with Rise Against Hunger. We also need volunteers to help remove chairs, set up 20 tables after the first service, and assist with food packing at the event. If you haven't signed up yet, please do!
Second, our church work day is on March 28 from 9 AM to 1 PM. We invite all members to join for a day of service and fellowship. Whether you can plant flowers, pull weeds, or assist with clean-up, your help will make a difference! Please sign up to let us know you're coming and to receive a light lunch.
Your participation not only benefits our community but also strengthens our church family and deepens our faith. I appreciate your commitment to serving others!
We look forward to seeing you there!
Also, don’t forget the exciting new College & Young Adult ministry that is beginning this Sunday at 10 am, led by Zac and McKalan Madden. Continue to be in prayer for and with them as they begin this new ministry.
Blessings in Christ,
Pastor Brandon
